F. Multiplex is a double-flowered form. I think you got cheated if that is what you paid for. This looks like the common native plant that has a single flower. See this page:

They are wonderful plants.
I am lusting for one of the doubles, but at around $25, I'm going to get by without it!

I don't understand why the double form is sooo expensive. It spreads just as fast as the single..I only paid $10 for mine and I'm dividing it constantly as it is becoming a bully.

The double form does not reseed like the single..but you can cut the red roots in pieces and plant them and have as many as you like. I had a strange thing happen, however with my double form..I had hundreds and then one spring NOTHING...Had to go take back and take some from a friend and start all over again. The same thing happened with my single form..must be something in the soil.(or not in the soil). but it was very depressing.

Price must be a regional thing. I would have to get one from a mailorder nursery.
Todd, I would be delighted to pay shipping if you would want one of your bullies to come this way! Or trade something. PM me if interested.
Levilyla, sorry yours disappeared. But it is a great thing that you shared and could ask for piece back! I've had the same thing happen to me occasionally.
