Well, it's not virginia creeper, and I don't think it's Ampelopsis brevipedunculata (Ampelopsis heterophylla), what "grape" could it be?

looks like a muscadine leaf or scufidine. cant tell wjich one until the grapes mature.


it grows wild here and in many other places.

I never get to see any grapes because the japanese beetles always dessimate it before any get a chance to form.

The vines this plant makes are wonderful and thick. I have to remember to cut some to make perches for my birds.

the zone stuff is iffy on them but i know friens who air layer them in pots to keep over winter.

they make great jelly and jam.

Hey, that looks like it! I even saw some of the begining fruits on a vine. Maybe this year I'll finally be able to harvest some grapes!
