Making rails for her porch out of spindles from a good source at 25 cents each.

Have any of you heard of using vinyl coated fencing for deck railings? (in place of ballusters). I want something I can see through and have heard the fencing is coated black or forest green and they though it was hog wire so you could see through it like it wasn't there.
