My grandparents own a little bit of a hill that used to be covered in this orchard. Most of it is dead and dying, except for their patch, because my Dad started pruning and tending it about fifteen years ago. Many of the trees are slowly declining, though. and we aretrying to figure out how best to tend to them, and if possible, to keep some of the rarer varieties going. Dad and I experimented with grafting to seedling apples in our pasture last year with no sucess, but we may try again...
I know it hasn't been in OUR family for over fifty years, but we do know its history!
