Are there any 'rules' one can go by with regards to peppers and their heat? I know different varieties have different degrees of heat but I also know that I can grow the same pepper type and get different results in how hot they are from year to year. Say I wanted to grow a pepper milder or hotter than the avg for their variety is there a way of setting out to do that and getting the results I am looking for?
