Well, I think I can see him, but I felt like I was doing one of those "Where's Waldo" things. And yes, your yard is gorgeous. If I can actually see him, he looks like he could be a Norwegian Elkhound or something colored like one.
all right you guys, somebody is pulling my leg here. i can spot a stray a mile a way, but a norwegian elkhound in this picture? WHERE? im laughing while im typing. please tell me there's no dog in this picture.!!! debi
I searched for a dog and the only thing I could come up with was a large Snoopy type dog doing chin-ups. On the other hand I think your dog's name is Sucker and you were calling it in for dinner and all us people showed up.
LOL, good one though...
I see the little one. I do believe I do.
Just above the metal table on top of the rock wall. I see a pair of ears and a cream color patch of fur around her neck. Beautiful yard!!! Looks so relaxing and a place to be during the heat of the day.
Probably can't find the thread, I recall overwhelming confusion when I first joined and couldn't remember where I'd been reading what. We could send her an email, and if she signs in at all it would pop up. Maybe Dave is trying to gaslight us. Or maybe we are all just nuts. I know I am.
I e-mailed her thru DG Mail -- maybe she's been busy out in the garden and hasn't had time to check the thread. Poor woman isn't going to recognize her yard when she sees this, it's so overrun with dogs now. ;)
listen, listen, i went back to the original picture. i see the dog as plain as day. shes a blond llasa or shih tzu or peke-tgif got it right away! i was looking at the wall, shes in front of the wall, kind of standing on her back legs looking over her shoulder. i swear it, im not lying. debi
I don't see it! Can you circle it? All I can see is the 'ears' I found now, grrrrrr! This is frustrating lol.
The one 'on top of the wall' looks like a tree trunk and foliage to me. This is fun, yet I am going cross-eyed. Rachel
i found paint, but i messed with it, never used it before and i think im too tired to figure it out. if youre still up and want to tell me how to do this, i will pick up tomorrow and circle this little @@@@##### dog. i have to go to bed. i am worn out with boucing around between about 6 threads. i just love it here on DG. debi
No doggie. I've enlarged, and gone over every area on the left side LOL I've read this entire thread. What a way to start my morning ROFL. I think that maybe the original picture had the dog, and maybe during a resizing, or even cropping, the dog got cut off?!? Who knows, but I'll be waiting, anxiously for the mysterious answer
Betsybug's pic is very close to mine - look at the left side of her line - it goes right down the side of Shey's face. If I'm right, Shey is black & tan, and you can only see her head. She has pointed ears, the right one (right in the pic - her left one since she is looking out) almost touching the gray rock in the wall.
vpass44 - you have to be out there somewhere!!! At least tell us if anyone is even near warm in this treasure hunt!
"the turtle is where the dog is... go southwest of the monkey " LOLOLOLOLOL
Is it some kind of code???? Is it April 1st? Could Dave have a hand in this? Has Vpass left the country? Is there REALLY a Vpass? Doesn't "shey " sound like a strange name for a dog? Will we EVER forget what Vpass's yard looks like?
Hey trackinsand - I wish the circle I drew was about half the size. The dog I see is right in the middle of that circle. I went back and looked at the original pic - and when you come right down to it for me - any and all of the above are/could be correct. I'm about ready to vote for the monkey!!! But, if nothing else, this IS fun!
The next move may be to set up a bet pool on whether or not vpass44 really exists, or is this whole thread a figment of our collective imaginations?
Oh my gosh!!! I haven't laughed this hard in I don't know how long!!! You guys are too funny! There is no dog in this picture. I think someone is pulling a "fast one" on us, and you know how this works? It's Power of Suggestion. If someone tells you NOT to look at the WHITE HORSE in the pasture, you know you're going to do it. I think it's the same thing here...lol...someone told us there was a dog in the picture, so our brains register this information, and we start seeing "dogs", when in actualilty there are rocks, flowers, tv screens, elves...ooh...can't forget the monkey...lol...no, there is no doggy in this picture, but I think I'll forever have Vpass' yard etched into my memory, and what wonderful memories they will bring: having fun with friends, laughing, crying because we're laughing so hard, beautiful flowers, critters of all kinds...kee hee hee...this has, by far, been the one of the best posts I have ever read!!! I'm going to keep track of this just in case Vpass comes back to "enlighten" us all on the doggy situation.
OK folks here's the drill - VPASS$$ AND SHEY AVE BEEN KIDNAPPED!!!! We must go in to rescue them! Now, trackinsand, you split up and take the North and south quadrants, the rest of you guys look around that suspicious looking birdbath. I'll meet ya on the porch when the coast is clear with lemonade and cookies.
Only if you pick up the monkey on the way by so it doesn't disappear along with vpass and shey. All the rest of you, any animal you find you must rescue at once! The Trephids are on the loose, and by now there is an entire ZOO in that beautiful yard. And remember, Please, Don't Eat The Daisies!
Scottie can't beam anybody up anymore, he passed away yesterday or the day before...sorry, new engineer/transport operator needed.
I don't even see the monkey anymore, I think I've o.d.'d on dog hunting! Now I'm leaning towards existential reasoning, and if we believe there is a dog, then there is a dog. Or a monkey. Or both. and a turtle. And a ham sandwich. With which I will gladly have some lemonade, thank you
did you all hear that the winner of this little mind game wins an all expenses paid trip for two to the Si-Ki-Ack-Trick ward of their choice? the catch is, ya gotta take the monkey. not to change the subject, but has anybody seen the vampire bat in the middle of the picture? butterqueen, you and i will search SW of the monkey and maryev too. shes a true believer. debi
Somebody better get that poor Panda back to a cooler place. This heat can't be good for it. I refuse to take on the warthog, cause they can be mean! The other bears and the cow and what ever else has wandered into this zoo are on their own. And we still need to find that dog!
Now, Darius, where's that keylime pie? we're working up a sweat here.
tgif, arent you sorry i dragged you back into this mess? but its obvious that we needed your expertise in sorting out this roundup. i had no idea the panda couldnt take the heat! vpass will be taking alittle heat her ownself if she doesnt make herself known pretty soon. wait, i see her, shes behind the curtain-o no, not, it couldnt be, the great and powerful Oz.
Oh fine, now everybody thinks I am crazy because I'm sitting here laughing my...well, you know, where the heck did that cow come from, I swear that fence isn't nearly high enough. I'm not going after that skunk either, phewwweee, 'n Alf doesn't smell so good either.
This is indeed the funniest thread I've seen on DG. (Ugliest Daylily Contest runs second on the daylilies thread) Meanwhile, I think I see a Tribble. Scotty must have dropped it off prior to beaming out of here. Maybe Marilyn_Texas is right. Wouldn't it be funny if Vpass44 doesn't know her/his right from left and we've all been looking in the wrong place?
Alf should be in charge, cause hes sitting right on top of that poor dog. i think vpass read this thread and took a pass right on outa here. she thought she was on a gardening website-now she finds we're a bunch of kooks with way too much time on our hands. wonder how many gardens are suffering today. me, i forgot to make dinner last night. dh doesnt think this thread funny at all.
This is so very funny. And of course I had to go enlarge the photo and go over it inch by inch. No doggie, but I found a guinea pig's head and a white flamingo. OH MY!! LOL
This reminds me of that book I used to read to my boy 22 years ago, "Goodnight Moon. " He used to search and search for the little mouse hidden on each page. Thanks for bringing back such great memories.
I think (now that I have stopped giggling long enough to give my brain a chance) that vpass meant the far left of the yard - not the far left of the picture. (Assuming, of course, that my blob is the correct dog and not one of the other dog-like blobs pointed out in this thread. There could be a whole herd of dogs in that picture...)
Of course you don't see the dog. The dog ran away from home yesterday when all the wildlife started moving in! Wouldn't you run if you looked out the window and saw that zoo collecting in your yard? I live in the country and I'm used to seeing a fair amount of odd animals wandering here and there, but THAT yard would scare me.
Personally, I think vpass is in jail, 'cause s/he didn't have a permit for most of those critters.
vpass is getting diabolical pleasure out of this! Now 'fess up! Would YOU end all this fun by "revealing all" too soon?
I think this thread will go into the DG hall of fame. I've even seen it mentioned on other threads.
The curb is behind the panda, southeast of the tv (LOL)
Since Veta (as she signed another post) is new to dg she probably isn't addicted yet and doesn't visit every 15-20 minutes like I do. Hopefully, she'll wander back over and see how popular she is and stay a while. We love your yard Veta, and Shey 1, Shey 2, Shey 3, etc etc etc.
no, kell said thanks to dick at the end of her post-she mumbled something about a white flamingo. i just got on the new pet thread "attached at the hip". i thought i needed something new. there was tgif talking about the dog and a kitten-but the kitten wasnt real, she says"dont anybody say what kitten?" i spit my salad all over my keyboard.
Omigod, now I'm not only laughing, I'm snorting and it's not pretty because I have a summer cold. Or I'm allergic to all these strange and wonderful animals. Wonder if V is offended at our additions to her pretty yard, but gee, think of all the free manure.
goodnight gracie! hey the blue dog! my daughter collects that guys artwork. she has the blue dog in her new condo. its very industrial. heres a pic-its behind the hanging light. o no, theres no search involved. i think im braindead.
kingedking-youre closer than you know, not to the monkey, but the dog, unless there is another monkey! yes! there very well could be. i hear that vpass doesnt neuter/spay her monkeys. shame on vpass for propagating all of these animals, you know no one will adopt them. specially that alf looking one! giggle, giggle.
i never thought of that! i will bet that vpass is the monkey/gardener and all of the other animals work for her. the dog (who we never see) is actually the owner of the property and is never there, on account of hes very rich and in seclusion.
I can't believe I'm back here again looking for ...what? trouble? more confusion? Monkey tracks? I'm printing these photos as possible future leverage to convince the authorities that I am not seeing monkeys when they try to lock me away.
I'm here to see who else is up this time of the morning still trying to find the hallucinatory dog. Woudn't it be funny if poor Vpass44 was schizoprenic and has an "imaginary" dog that she was trying to share with everyone? I still think Scotty beamed down some tribbles somewhere.
Hey, folks. I FOUND HER!! That is vpass44/veta - not Shey, the dog, who is still sadly MIA. Anyway, to make a short story long - I was wandering around the country and I bumped into Hannelore1 out in CA wildlife. I told her I had seen one of her Bison over in Veta's yard. She wondered where he had gone. And then, on my way, home I finally spotted Veta - She's been out back in the veggie garden. I explained that Hannelore1 sorta wanted her Bison back, and I was sorry, but Shey was still MIA.
Now I've got my best friend who lives in Covington, GA missing. As I kept looking at this pic I knew it looked familar...I called my friend Teresa who lives next door to Veta..asked her to check it out. Last I heard (while she was talking to me on her cell) was that she had a monkey on her back and a whole herd of animals chasing her...
Like ginni, that's my story and I am sticking to it!
This thread is hilarious! I've laughed, snorted, and had tears running down my face! To make matters worst, I looked up and my boss was staring at me most disapprovingly! At any rate, Shey is a lovely dog! She's sitting on top of the table and I'm sure she plans to stay there since so many other animals have joined her in the yard! LOL
After being gone all morning, I return only to find that insanity is still running amok and nobody has found that #%$!! dog. Anyone have one of those silent whistles?? Step in any buffalo chips? Monkey around with Alf?
Gardenwife: I agree with you 100%. I initially thought it was the tree trunk behind the little dog's head, but upon further inspection, I spotted the little head you have circled. Of course, at this point, it doesn't prove or mean a thing. Meanwhile, "Run, Toto, run!"
I was going to print this out just to save it because it is such a hoot, but my printer started and it said Page 1 of 35, so, uhhhhh never mind, won't be printing it. I am going to print the pictures though. I was putting dog biscuits out trying to lure Shey off the table without tipping my hand to the buffalo, but the monkey grabbed them and ran off to the top of the slide. Curses!! Foiled again!!
Ok, so as far as I can tell, we have positively identified 6 separate dogs. (And I say "positively identified" because everytime you all point one out, I can see it, too! I haven't decided yet if that makes me discerning or gullible...) Maybe vpass just didn't notice that all the rest of her menagerie were in the garden with Shey??
Here is dog 1: the big terrier looking over the wall
the dog is not there unless vpass says exactly where shey is we need to know if she chose the wrong picture or cropped it and shey is on the cutting room floor poor thing!!!
this has been so much fun thouigh you are all very creative!!!
I just read this whole thread. I don't believe I've ever read a funnier thread on the entire internet. And I never did see a dog!!!! I think you're all wrong, Vpass has left "Shay" in stealth mode.
Ya gotta love DG.
Somewhere in GA, vpass is saying 'yeah, I joined this gardening website that looked really cool. Made a few postings and when I came back they had all turned into raving lunatics!'
Veta, please come back! We don't bite. You are the most popular newbie on DG! The pet forum has even beat out the daylily forum in postings 2 days in a row thanks to you, the 6 adorable little Sheys and that mischievous monkey:)
Marylyn and trackinsand - I'm still convinced that the creature you're referring to as "Dog #6" is an unfortunate Galapagos Tortoise who managed to get his head and neck built into a stone wall. He's already eaten all the foliage near his head and he's probably thirsty. If vpass doesn't come home soon to free Torty, someone's going to have to take some action!
And Shey is probably Vulcan. The hair is a dead giveaway.
Has that giant sized bald-headed eagle always been in the photo or did someone just add it? Look above the stone wall on the left. And above that I think is the head of a black and white French bull dog looking out through the trees. See them? I'm at work so I can't circle them, but will when I get home.
I really am getting a little worried about vpass44. I read all the other threads he/she has posted and one said he/she was seeing "GRUB WORMS ALL IN MY HOUSE, BARN, SHOP, WALLS,CARPORT" Maybe the grub worm got both vpass44 and her little dog too. Or maybe vpass44 see not only little white dogs, but also grubworms?
Hey, don't kid about those grub worms! I had them in my lawn this spring and now I ask what lawn? I still think that gardenwife has it with his little head peeking over the fence, not in front and what is this monkey you guys keep talking about?
that last drawing you did..is that a pig? Is Shey a pig-faced dawg? We've all been lookin for the wrong thing. Ya'll lookin' for a dog.. but it's a pig faced dog..I SEE IT, it also carries a likeness of a rock wall!! oinkbarkoinkbark...
Here is what I thought was a black and white French Bulldog when I was looking at it at work, but now that I enlarged it and converted it to black and white, I think it may be an English Bulldog. See, his mouth is opened and his tongue and teeth are showing. He is standing looking over the stone wall and he has his white bird with him. At work, I thought it was an eagle, but now I'm not so sure. Can you see his white head and beak?
I am new to the DG forum, and I love pets, been following this since day one of the "Where is the dog" issues, and now, I know why my brother Shoe seems to be off his rocker sometimes...this is hysterical I haven't laughed so much in a long time. At 11:30 last night I am sittin here by myself laughing so hard I woke up the daughter who thought something was seriously wrong and they were coming to get me and lock me up! Then I got the big "OH MOM...GO TO BED"!
I thought the dog was further in, it looks like a ceramic dog though with a pointy nose...further to the right of the "shepard looking" issue they found earlier. Its white with black ears, black tip on the nose.
marylyn, the turtle is eating the dog, the turtle ate the dog, the turtle is the dog. happy, maybe you had datura cocktails with darius' key lime pie and you dont remember now. i tripped over the dog last night and when i turned on the light to check for broken bones, there was the monkey laughing in the corner.
Well, I'm back from seeing the Wizard. Take it from me, don't go there as he is having a REAL bad hair day!!! No new funny bone for me, so I'll just have to make do. Now, darius and I think we have seen Shey! If we're right, she's in CA (followed the bison home?) in the phone booth in palmbob's yard calling 911 to file a missing person report on vpass/veta! I sure hope they find her, as we seem to need some help here keeping up with the needs of all these critters. Did anyone get some water to that poor tortoise?
This ark is listing ! Will some of you please move to to port to straighten us up before we sink the whole darn thing!
that last drawing you did..is that a pig? Is Shey a pig-faced dawg? We've all been lookin for the wrong thing. Ya'll lookin' for a dog.. but it's a pig faced dog..I SEE IT, it also carries a likeness of a rock wall!! oinkbarkoinkbark...
...or maybe, darndt-darndt-darndt? LOL! Lisa, you slay me.
The gingham dog went "Bow-wow-wow!"
And the calico cat replied "Me-ow!"
This is all kennedyh's fault - got me started on favorites with that beautiful full moon pic over in photos, and I can now see so many childhood friends in this pic. Can't see Shey, but lots of other friends.
"the Chinese plated looked very blue and clock it wailed what shall we do?
But the gingham dog and the calico cat, tumbled this way and wallered that...
employing every tooth and claw in the awfulest row you ever say ...
and some folks think unto this day that something stole those two away. But the truth about the cat and pup, is that they ate each other up! Now what do you really think of that? The Chines plate it told me so and that is how I came to know!!!!"
(Continuation of tgif's start - apologize for pharaphrasing,,,)
So you see the cat ate the dog or vice versa and so there is not dog left to be found...
Bets - your paraphrasing is just fine. I'm glad to know that I'm not the only one who can no longer remember all the rhymes and poems I could spout off so easily as a child. I just hate to have to google for it though. I have most of my favorites in books from my childhood, and I so enjoy reading them again.
Do you suppose, if we set up a tea party, and read nursery rhymes, that vpass/veta and Shey would come out? Or, do we really want them to come out?
Hey trackinshey - I got a plan! Let's us go over there tonight and start shoveling up all that zoo "gold" to put on our flowerbeds! Its gotta be too much for v's yard by now, and we wouldn't want her beautiful flowers to get burned, now would we?! Besides, don't most cities have laws about scooping? Well, maybe we can keep her from having to go back to jail. Whatta ya say, ya with me, or agin me?!
ok where is VPass???? I really need to know if she was on something when she saw this dog because it is just NOT there and this is too funny but now I have lost the point are we still looking for the dog??? LMAO LOL
do you see a dog? I don't see a dog! All I see is a yard full of the strangest looking critters ever collected in one place, now appearantly joined by a whole slew of 1000 legged crawly things that are even getting into the house! Maybe THAT"S where darius put that pie.
track-- exactly -- What dog????? this is so funny my 5 year old son is seeing dog's that do not exsist in that picture
everyone who emailed vpass -- has she answered?? Maybe on vacation??
or ... is she in a padded room somewhere with no internet service?
or... will we be in one after this thread has driven us all to insanity?????
LOL LOL LOL LOL
tgif = actually we sang The Gingham Dog and the Calico Cat at our children's concert. I rememberd it from childhood too - but it was fun to sing
OKAY - I say we need a posse to round up Vpass and her dern dog (Toto, too?)...This is ridiculous - not checking on your threads. How Rude! (just kidding). Would like to know though if it is a hoax or not...I'm already ready for the funny farm so this didn't drive me too much farther over the edge...ha ha ho ho hee hee (They're coming to take me away!!!)
You see the quys in the white jackets in the picture? I do!
Let's see - ah yes, there it is. One couch southwest of the monkey and a little north of the curb. Oh, yeah, I think there is a big shoe behind the curb so don't trip over it.
I sure hope that's a BIG couch, 'cause theres gonna be a whole bunch of us on it real soon! I haven't spotted the white coats yet, suspect they're behind me, sneaking up to grab me! (Don't worry about me, I have the Jabberwock standing guard. Besides, when those guys look around here, they will be ready to commit themselves and forget about the rest of us poor lost souls..)
Do ya suppose vpass is a shrink, and needs some new business?
Well, I've been invited to a snipe hunt so I'll check back in in a bit. Ya'll be careful now, its a jungle out there.
Want to hear something funny? I am a psych nurse and I was trying to find Shey at work a couple nights ago. The patients started to look at me kinda funny when I jumped up and shouted. " Look here! There's a French bulldog up in that tree! Can you see him? Can you??" I thought it was a little rude, because I don't make fun of them if they see bugs on the walls.:)
Hahaha Susan! I was a psych nurse too in my younger years, we had a patient who saw snakes on the sidewalk, so if we went out for a walk, she was always warning us not to step on them. Once I thought I would get a step ahead of her, and as we left the building, I said, "watch out for the snakes" and this woman looked at me, deadpan and said, "There's no snakes, are you crazy?" I was left speechless!
But since we are now seeing dogs everywhere, who's to say??
That's funny! One thing I will say about being a psych nurse is that's it never boring and it sure helps to have a sense of humor. I think this photo could keep the patients busy for a very long time, but I'm afraid that not everything they would find in the photo would be printable here.
Hi, fellow lunies. I had to hurry up and find that snipe - yeah I know, if I can find a snipe that's slinking around the woods hiding, why can't I find a dog sitting still in a pic?!!! Never mind that now. We have an emergency here! While I was out hunting for a snipe I saw a cute little bunny cross the path in front of me, and I suddenly thought - OH NO, that funny, fuzzy lump beside the TV in the birdbath is the Energizer Bunny. His batteries must have run down, and he is trying to hide from those awful men with the white coats who were chasing him 'cause they think he is Harvey and if they catch him they can catch Elwood P. Dowd and , yea folks - Elwood's sister is VETA LOUISE!!!!!!!!!! whew! I hope I got back in time to save him! Has anybody got any batteries you could loan him?
News Flash - We interrupt this program to bring you this important news bulliten! The pigs have escaped "Sheyland" and were last seen in trois' milkweed patch. salvia_lover has flown in from Israel to assist in the search, but has been unable to find them! For directions, see Photos -trois-milkweed. We now return to the regular program.
meezer - are you SURE that is an expert? Looks just like one of those guys with the funny coats to me. Don't anyone panic, we haven't lost another one - he ducked behind the curb so you can't see him. No, maybe that's Yoda.
Hey diddle diddle, the cat with the fiddle, the cow jumped over the moon...the little dog is laughing at us all! I thought for sure I found Shey here, but when you zoom in, it just looks like another monkey!
from the book "Where the Sidewalk Ends" (1974)
Sandra's seen a leprechaun,
Eddie touched a troll,
Laurie danced with witches once,
Charlie found some goblins' gold.
Donald heard a mermaid sing,
Susy spied an elf,
But all the magic I have known
I've had to make myself.
That's perfect eco! Scrolling up this thread, and can see a LOT of names (and animals) that could be added to this list!
Thanks fpr the memory, too. Haven't thought of that one in awhile.
By the way, pati spotted Shey in my yard earlier, but true to form, I can't find her now. If anyone is in the neighborhood - stop by for a cool drink, and we can snoop around!
I just hope she didn't bring any of the other critters with her!
Vpass, we are SO glad to see you!!! Your yard is absolutely lovely, with or without your very cute little dog. It is good to actually see Shey! (Although I'm disappointed that my blob wasn't THE blob...)
holy smokes, havent checked the thread in awhile. helloooooooo vpass. thanks for the chance to make us all feel like kids again and for letting us sharpen our wits at your expense. its been a trip...and what a long, strange trip its been. debi (i can change my name back now from shey to sand)
Veta, ,you have no idea what a relief it is for us to have you back! I bet you did not even know you were lost. If you have read ALL of this thread, you now know that there are not many sane people here at Daves's, but we are mostly harmless, so don't stay away so long next time. Your garden is truely beautiful and I want to see more of it as well as your dogs. Now the only mystery left is who is this little white dog that showed up at my doorstep last evening? He said his name was Shey and told me this long involved story about what a wonderful home he had before the monkey and buffalo and all those other strange dogs showed up. I told him he was welcome to stay with me and was so glad he decided to bring the duck with him. They are both so sweet.
Well helloooooo Veta. You have returned from cyberspace just in time to save us from ourselves. Does this mean we all have to return to the real world of weeds to pull and grocery trips? Ah, well. I love your yard (hope it survived the zoo wandering in and out) and that rock birdbath is tops. Good thing it wasn't there earlier. I would have been hard put to not snitch it. I just love to take natural things and use them like that.
Hey track - you're sand again! This has been so much fun and I thank you all for so many good laughs. (What other thread made photo of the day for 5 days in a row?)
Well, I'm off to see the wizard again, to tell him I don't need a new funny bone after all. The one I have is working just fine - it just needed this to give it a good work out. I haven't had so many good laughs in a long time.
Beautiful yard, Veta! Thank goodness you came back. We have a nutty group here and they were driving me crazy with all hallucinations about other animals in your yard. I tried to control them but I think they've been smelling tooooooo many flowers...lol.
wow you miss one day and look what happens Vpass returns and the mystery is solved great news! Or is it? I will miss the fun and does this mean that Shey was in the origanal picture and got cut off? Veta can you post the picture not cropped so we can see how you thought you had Shey in it?
OOPS have I started something again?
can you find my dog in this picture LOL pretty easy I guess
lol Opus loves the cool floor of the fireplace however gets a little put off when we use it for fires in the winter!
he is actually alot easier to find since is is much bigger then Shey but he would love to play with Shey if he could find him LOL'
butterqueen, loved your poem!!!
tgif, i LOVE little bunny foo foo. great minds really do think alike! this has been a blast, huh? see ya in the funny papers! im including one of my all time favorite pics-dont know the dogs personally, but one of them COULD be shey.
OMG...I just joined Daves and started reading this thread better then a hour ago. I haven laughed this hard or for this long...my side hurt guys. What are you doing to me? But I have to say WHERE is the dog in the first pic????? I'm going crazy here.
Thanks for that great evening(morning really). I think I joined the right place.
Sidney has invisible dogs? That sounds like a whole new thread. Also explains who's been leaving doggie poo in the front yard...
Welcome Ms pond to the slightly bent gardeners gang...we all enjoyed this thread to the point of tears... scroll up and see the explanation of how the dog wasn't there.
Whats that warthog doing in that last tree on the left? I've never seen one in a tree before. I don't think that is posible so me thinks the photo must be doctored! One has to take the things we see on the internet with a grain of salt. JMHO.
I just found this thread. I've never laughed so hard in a while. LOL I looked and looked and looked. Ha Finally I think there is a very tiny little dog at the left of the picture that's peeking over the rock wall. He looks to be a puppy.
Am I hallucinating??? LOL
I hate to disappoint you but my first real job out of high school was in a private sanitarium, for rich crazy people. Beautiful buildings, real furniture, not hospital metal utilitarian , carpeted floors, totally ruined my previous impressions from seeing Olivia Dehaviland in The Snake Pit. We had wonderful cooks and got our room and board in exchange for long hours and miserablely meager pay.
That being said, it doesn't necessarily follow that I am sane.
Y'know, I read this thread back when it was new - giggled, snorted, laughed till I cried like the rest of you guys. But I never posted 'cuz I'm still trying to preserve the notion that I am NOT certifiably(sp?) insane! LOL!
OMG, I am wiping my eyes from laughing so hard! What a hoot! I had never heard anything about this thread until today when we were all talking about tags at http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/802588/ and nap talked about a tag she made for this thread. I had to come see what it was and boy, am I glad I did!
How funny, after leaving everyone hanging a week vpass44 says "o k ,I am sorry, the little dog Shey did get cut off of the picture! " HARHARHAR Oh man! And the pictures that members created, what a great sense of humor you all have!
I STILL don't see those 3 dogs in her last picture, on July 27th, but then I only saw one dog in the pic with the natural birdbath rock too! LOL
This is the funniest thread I have ever seen! There really should be a Hall of Fame for threads like this. Maybe it could be a yearly thing. Admin could pick five threads to vote on each year and the winner gets to be immortalized. This one of course would get in automatically since it was the one that started it all. What do y'all think???
Thanks Vpass44 for sharing the picture of your lovely garden. Your garden (back in 2005) was very pretty and I hope it still looks as beautiful today!
... and thanks to all of you DG'ers who've drawn circles in the photo to show me where the dog is and also all the other critters in the garden that I missed! ^_^ There are a lot of "Critters" here in Dave's Garden, and you're a bunch of nuts but I love you all!
Oh, by the way ... I do see Shey, in the left side of the garden amidst the flowers, Shey is a Dalmation.
Well gee ... I decided to go to vpass44's home page and checked out some other threads she/he started. There was another DOG thread from 2005! : http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/533096/ this one actually showing real dogs in the picture but not three as she/he states ... I only see two!
Y'all didn't tell me there was ANOTHER puzzle! ^_^
I really do see a dog in the picture! I wish I knew how to draw a circle around it like some of y'all have done but I am so computer illiterate I have no clue how to do that.
Anyway, if you take a piece of paper, or I used my thumb and laid it vertically at the right side of the table, just inside that right table leg. There will be a teeny bit of the table still showing to the right. There looks to be a branch of leaves vertical just at the right side of the table. Just to the right of those leaves at the top, right in the flowers by the stone wall ... there seems to be a dog. I can clearly see his right side, looks to be white with black spots, sort of like a Dalmatian, his head and right eye are visible.
This is going to drive me bonkers, if no one else sees what I'm seeing! I keep coming back to this thread and looking at the picture to see if I'm "seeing" things, and I see a dog every time. I don't think it can be a Dalmatian because it's not tall enough, but it sure looks like a white dog with black spots to me.
Oh, and it wasn't the Fla Gardening Forum that the discussion was taking place but rather the Plant and Tree Identification Forum. An old thread from long ago that Dave himself forgot to mark solved when he had a plant ID'd. http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/11789/ I never knew of this one until someone began a discussion about it.
I know. I think Ray took his monkey's off the Pill and they're multiplying.
I can remember how many album cover's I stared at in the 1960's looking for 'a sign'... Paul's face or whatever.
Gets you every time, huh? I can't remember laughing as hard ever as I did when I sat one night and read this entire thread - lol. Even the dog (my dog - he is real) was looking at me like I was nuts...
For a second...then i remembered where the tail was and you had not seen it laying on the giraffe's back like I did. I think that your dog is still digging that hole though...I can see the dirt flying...
Dog?? I don't see a dog. Where is it. There is now dog. You people are plum crazy. I keep looking and still I don;t see a dog. My eyes are getting blurred and they ache. I need to go see the eye Dr. now.
If you look at the upper right hand corner...THAT IS DEFINATELY Nessie the Loch Ness Monsters head. She is wiping her mouth on the tin roof because she thought she ate the dog, but really only got a bite of his tail as he jumped the fence and got away.
What a way to bring the family together...you all made me laugh til I cried...I wanted to skip to the end but was afraid I would miss something along the way...sure glad I read it all...this should be made into a book
Dave's "Secret" Garden
I needed this laugh!! (walks away wondering if renewing the membership includes a fee for the white jacket)
At some point in time, everything below 5 ft was identified as the dog...actually he was watching from the safety of the roof...silly people need to look up he thought...grin. White, LONG sleeved jackets are available on the back porch...
