welcome to the club!!!! I just got hooked at the end of May, and I'm hopeless already. I talk to them, check on each one several times a day. How long have you been growing them?
Glad to have you here, and make yourself at home:)
Welcome jen!! I am also a brugaholic..yep, just like tiG. I only have a few, but hope to share and add to my collection of these fantastic plants. Just went out for the umteenth time today and counted the buds!
buds, hmph!!! I've got to have a long talk with my babies tomorrow! Of course, I did just get my first at the end of May, it was only about 12" and it's now over double that, but still!!!!
Getting them fish emulsion in the morning, I expect blooms the next day!!!! :)
tiG, I have read the posts about that stinky fish stuff, but I think if I got some, it would drive my cat crazy and I dread the thoughts of going around with a clothespin on my nose. 'Course, me and the cat may just have to go crazy and sound a little funny talking when it comes to whats best for my Brugs.
Yeah, I used mine once and left it in the yard with the top on it and it sealed good and the neighbor's cat carried it home with it. When I got the bottle back it was ripped open and most of the fish was gone. Those fish got caught twice. The cat really liked me after that day. Every time I would go out to water the flowers the cat would want to help.
Welcome aboard MsJen. You will love it here. So many nice fiends. It seems I have known them for years and years. I had 9 Brugs last year but all of mine were in the ground and two of them didn't come back this year. I guess the cat and I didn't do a good job with the fish emulsion. Hey maybe the cat slipped around while I wasn't watching and ate the fish off the Brugs. Bad cat.
Do you want another Datura with a bud? I have one that I potted up for a cousin of mine (I've already given her one this year)along with a Sweet Shrub but I could repot one of them. I didn't promise it to her. See how nice I can be. I'll have to do more than drive by and drool. The enjoyment is not only the sight but the smell also. Maybe they will bloom before long. email or call me if they do. I want to see them. Jim
