In this area, the BIG deal is something called Chow-Chow.
The local recipe takes Cucumbers and Green Tomatoes, among other things.
I haven't got a clue on pricing by the bushel for either one of these. Any suggestions on pricing by the bushel? Is there a formula?
When someone wants a few Green Tomatoes to take home and fry, I usually charge $2.75 a pound. The same as I would if they were ripe.
Other tomatoes I have are $3.00 a pound and I weigh them out and put them in containers with a price on the container. Or they can pick out what they want and I weigh them at the check out.
Speaking of Tomatoes...do you generally charge a bit more for Cherry Tomatoes? or Less?
