They are under the name of Radrazz and Radcon
Please explain.
I see that PF refers to it also http://davesgarden.com/pf/go/268/index.html http://davesgarden.com/pf/go/80096/index.html
It is a wonderful rose. They require little work.
Thanks, Linda

Those would be the 'code' names (for lack of a better word) that these plants are patented under. RAD for the hybridizer, Radler. David Austin's roses are AUSwhatever, Kordes roses are KORsomething and so on in that manner.

Thanks. Why are they so cheap. At the beginning of the year they were $20 for a 2 gallon pot. These were in a 1 gallon. Linda

rtd don't worry. In my local rose-only nurseries, they also had similar price decline. I'll make a bee-line to my walmart, could use another for at this price.

It's the end of season thing. They always go on clearance at this time of the year. Online vendors too, usually. Good time to pick up bargains.

Lowes here in Mich. had J&P roses at half price but the Knockouts were still at full price. I wanted to buy a J&P but the only ones they had left were not hardy in zone 5. I have a 2 yr. old Pink Knockout and it is virtually carefree. Gorgeous foliage and buds and it never stops blooming, a perfect rose bush except it has no fragrance. I love it all the same.

I went and bought the pink Knockout. At first I picked up the wrong one as the flowers of the red had faded to pink. I could not remember if Radrazz/Radcon was pink or red. After about 5minutes I was able to find a red flower in bud, get the correct name of the pink and locate one.
A local nurseryman recommended the knockouts for zone 6. Most say the Japanese Beetles might chew on a few flowers but leave the leaves alone. Linda

They get really big and really heavy, Vossner, so don't plant them next to any flimsy structures. They like to spread out horizontally.

As far as I know, Vossner, you can do selective branch pruning on any rose. Along a fence is the perfect place for it (or them). That's going to look just great. Can't wait to see pictures.
