Here are some of the later flowering plants from our garden, mainly Fuchsia, that qualify for heritage/heirlooms or even antiques.
This first one is Antirrhinum majus 'Picturatum', a selection of snapdragons with stripes and blotches which dates to the 1840s. There are quite a few single colours that come from this selection but enough variegated blooms to make it fun. As Snapdragons tend to be grown as annuals it's often forgotten how old some of the cultivars are, several oldies, such as Black Prince, are still in circulation.
These are good 'talking' snapdragons too, some of the newer cultivars don't have those strong lip 'hinges'. *G*
