I have this plant which appears in April, grows to 2ft in the space of 4 weeks and blooms during May-July.
The flowers are typically borage like but with no obvious stamens and anthers. They are a bright deep blue and the bees adore them.
Leaves are rough and hairy, almost feels like you've been stung mildly to touch. Again typical borage family.
Now, while I now what Borage and Alkanets look like (this is
very like Alkanet) I cannot get a positive ID as the leaves are spotted white. I've taken parts and whole plants to various nurseries and most recently a Wild Flower collector and no one can give me a definite answer. He thinks its a curiosity.
