I bought a sofa - custom made with my color choice and I am regretting it more than I can express in words... Anyway, the fabric color looked really great at the store (very light yellow), but it is way too strong yellow in my much darker living room (The color is pretty close to hot dog mustard yellow. AGH!)
Anyway since gardening is winding down and since I am spending more time inside, I would really like to try to remedy this sofa problem. I am thinking of painting the wall to some color to somewhat offset the focus from this bright yellow sofa... Could the room look better by painting the walls? What color would be good? (I've never painted in my life, but I've been wanting to do this for a long time... just so the sofa doesn't stick out so much...)
Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.
As you can see in the photo, I am covering the sofa as much as I can (with a dark greenish throw and some off white afgan, plus some pillows...) Believe it or not, the yellowness of the sofa in the photo is pretty much true to color. I can take down the three painting photos on the wall; that's no problem. (The frame of the painting photos are actually black although the picture shows as if they were shiny silver.)
THANK YOU!!
