Okay so today as I was checking all the gardens, my Marietta Songbird looked a little wilty. No reason for it too, hasn't been real dry, so I inspected the crown...didn't look good. Gently dug it out of the ground and rinsed it (see, I've been reading all these threads and had some idea what to do ..otherwise I would have just watered it if it looked wilty!!)...Nasty rotten potato smell on the roots. Like 911 had my husband run into the house and get bleach, quickly cut out all the soft stuff and dunked it into bleach.
Looked up on the internet, which said to leave it one hour. Then I replanted way away from everything else, in the vegetable garden.
There was a lot of solid root, and one crown gone three seemed not rotten...Is there anything else I can do? I just got this and of course this was my big treat for myself this year (Okay, ONE of them)
