I recieved a boat-load of Verbena seeds from a fellow gardener here in Des Moines, she's telling me to just sprinkle the seeds on the ground 'now' for spring / summer 06 ... Ok, so do I dust lightly with soil or cover with grass clippings? Would'nt it be better to sow in the early -cold spring? Any idea anyone? We have temps in the 50's / 40's right now days, upper 30's & 40's evenings.
Also...Poppy seeds, I've tried sowing them lightly on the ground in fall but I've never seen any come up...suggestions anyone?
Edited to say : I think these are the 'bonariensis' which I've been dying to have in my garden.
