I began collecting JM's 4 years ago and have about 80 cultivars. Some look great in spring, some in fall, but very few in spring, summer and fall. I have about decided that my overall favorite is Yezo nishiki. Very old and apparently rare, I got mine from Forest Farm. Although basically a red upright form of which there are many, it goes through many more shades of red and red-green combinations than say, Bloodgood, and its fall color is much better. This is a picture from this fall.
