My son and I ventured into the garage to experiment with some hypertufa in the way of leaf bowls for Christmas presents. I wanted to use what was on hand, so we mixed two parts mortar mix with 1 part (plus a little) screened peatmoss. I added some bonding agent and then water.
I didn't have sand, but I had a load of really good 5 way mix soil, so we used the soil to make our forms for the leaves. Here are the leaves we started with.
