A couple shots of my brothers library. This was built into his 1929 home in St.Paul, MN.
This was a bedroom & a hallway. The space between the 2 doords was closet. I am standing in what was an entry-piano room. Closet was removed, door from hallway to living was filled in. Wall between bedroom & hall was removed. Ceiling joists were rebuilt to put load on dining room wall. Bedroom-hall wall had been the load bearing wall. Living Room, new entry, library, all ended up as symectrical rooms. Also oak floor was inter-laced to fill area where closets had been.
New oak woodwork was stained & sanded to match the 1929 wood. (You can not tell which is original & which is new!)
These pictures do not do the project justice.
