How do I create a journal? Whenever I click on "manage your own journal", I get this screen

"Step 3...
You now need to start your journal off by adding for first item. You do this by going to the category in which you want this item to be created. When you have selected your category, then click on "Add a new item".
Select the category from the list below:"

And there are no categories below from which to select.

I think you have to make the catagories. Try this thread: http://davesgarden.com/forums/t/251387/

I believe Mendy is right. You need to set up the categories first, before you can add anything to them.

What I would do is take a look at how others have their journals set up (categories, sub categories, etc.), and figure out how you want yours before actually setting it up. It's easier to have an outline, or table of contents type of index, in mind when first setting it up. It saves a lot of work moving things around later. Been there, done that. :)

Where do I add categories. I do not have that option.

When I click on the journal tab on the home page, I get this

"Welcome to the Gardener's Journal Search Journals:

Dave's Garden members can maintain their own garden journals, and view journals created by other members.
Diaries:

Manage your own garden diary
View other garden diaries
Journals:

Manage your own journal
View other journals"

When I click on "Manage our own journal", I get this

"Welcome back to your "Default Journal" Journal, Kelli Jump to RID: Search your journal:

Step 3...
You now need to start your journal off by adding for first item. You do this by going to the category in which you want this item to be created. When you have selected your category, then click on "Add a new item".
Select the category from the list below:"

Note there there is no Step 1 or Step 2 and maybe that is the problem, but how do I get to Step 1?

It's strange that you aren't getting the option to add or delete catagories. You might want to put this in the Dave's Garden Forum or contact the admins directly.

I don't know either. It almost looks like the main menu portion where you start is missing for you? I compared what Mendy and I get when clicking on Manage your journal, and I don't see the main menu on yours Kelli. I think Dave or Terry may have to answer this question.

When I click on manage my journal, I get this: Well, this is the first part of what I get, my journal is very long.

It looks like I'll have to ask Dave about it. Something isn't right.

This happens occasionally (if it's any consolation, you're not the first ;o)

Dave will need to re-set your default journal - it's a user-error to begin with, but I can't put my finger on what crucial step is being skipped or done incorrectly to cause the problem. (Which also means Dave probably needs to put a permanent fix on his list of to-do's.)
