Still looks like pigwed to me Janie. Did you happen to use any bagged topsoil in the area. I find that it usually has alot of weed seed in it, Pigweed being one of them.

No, no topsoil. This was definitely SOWN by seed, it's the only place I have it in my gardens, for one thing, and I have five gardens on the property. If it is a weed it was in that wildflower mix. NOT GOOD.

So you are suggesting that I get rid of it. Dang.
Well, it's shading out some other things, guess it won't be any great loss.

    Thanks Jerseyguy.

    God bless,

Well, Jerseyguy gets the prize! I couldn't stand it so I yanked one and took it to the local professionals and they said sure enough it's pigweed and to get it out before it blooms and spreads THOUSANDS of seeds throughout my carefully tended herb garden.

I came right home and yanked it.

So...now my cosmos and forget me nots have a chance to grow.

    Thanks, everyone for your help!

    God bless,
    Janie
