mgarr, I love this plant's foliage during the winter months. Several years ago I pinched the tops and used them in my Christmas decorations (wreaths, swags, etc.) At the time I was using lots of blue and gold conifer cuttings as well as the yellow and green of Dragon Eye Pine. The contrast of the burgundy Euphorbia foliage was just what I needed and surprisingly they held up well for several weeks without going limp.
What a great idea, next year I'll try that one. Our weather has been brutal, it already went to -5 below one night. That is Jan./Feb. temp. I'm not looking forward to this winter. However the Euphorbia seems not to mind.
