My bathroom sink is draining extremely slowly. I can't figure out how to get the pop-up stopper out. Does anyone know how to do this? I hope this makes sense.

Under the sink, at the back of the upper pipe is a lever sticking out that connects to the up uppy-downy thing. It is held in by a cap that you should be able to unscrew by hand. That will allow the lever to come out (with the plastic ball attached) and that will release the lower part of the stopper dohickey. The portion of the lever inside the pipe may have collected hair.

When I reassemble, I do so without engaging the bottom of the stopper. That way the stopper can be lifted out at any time.

This may help some. [HYPERLINK@www.lowes.com]

Thank you so very much, PotEmUp. I hope to get to this this afternoon. I have printed out your instructions, so I can follow them. The link was of great help to to actually see what I am supposed to be looking for.

By the way, your name implies you are a gardener. Is that so?

Yes, it is true, but I am a also general handyman. I remodeled my latest house and so I am versed in all aspects of construction. Check out my project at [HYPERLINK@quilts.acphotolab.com] Click on any photo for more shots and info. I make my living as a pencil pusher, but enjoy getting my hands dirty and my muscles sore.
