hiya Starzz,

Oh my, what a wonderful garden space!

I'm particularly fond of the Museum...lol.

A wonderfully magical garden area indeed. Hope you'll keep us posted with further vistas of your fabulous gardens.

Wonderful! It looks so peaceful. I've thought about trying to make an arbor, but I hadn't considered using bamboo. Great idea!

Thanks for all of your very kind comments.

DrDon,
Lol on "the Museum"..I picked up those things at auctions and yard sales. Thanks for starting this forum...it was a great idea.

I will get around to looking at all your Garden tours..but I am on dial-up here in the country..so it takes time to view all the photos.

Cheers,

Beautiful! Love the gazebo and garden arches. The entrance to the garden looks like the Garden of Eden with the lovely ripe fruit flanking it. Thanks for sharing.

It is always a pleasure to hear that others are enjoying my garden through the photos.
I wish more people could come and see it for real.

Thank you Neal and Megan.

I am smiling...and dreaming of the things to come this spring.
I received a gift certificate at Christmas from my son and DIL for more plants at my favorite garden place..The Garden Path.

starzz-- I LUV your garden pics-- so lush and green and calming!

And I love your secret gazebo. I can see why it's your pride and joy!

Did you make that yourself? Did you have plans for it? I would love to have one in my yard. Just the kind of gazebo we need in our woodland setting!

Hi Tabasco,
Thanks..it is calming to wander back there and see what is growing and blooming.

Back in 1998 a fella I worked with had built one for his girlfriend at that time.
He was so proud he brought pictures to work and I said .."that would be perfect for the middle of the old stand of apple trees at the back of my property. Would you build one for me?" So he and his girlfriend built it..and charged me $2500.00..which I thought was mighty expensive...but I had fallen in love with it. ...and so the Secret Garden began,

He was a maintenance man..and very good at fixing and building things. But he went on to another place of work and I have lost contact with him.

If you look at the beginning, half finished pic you can see how it was built. It is the one where I am leaning on a rail wearing a blue dress.

It would be perfect for your woodland setting. If you would like me to measure it I could do that for you.

Cheers,
Carol

Thanks, Starzz-- I think I can figure it out from your pics. I have a fellow who is clever who can go from there, I think. Now I have to come up with the $$$!

LOL-- sstateham, my garden is too dull for a tour! It's mostly just suburban lawn and easy maintenance shrubs, a few flower beds and woodland. (Most of the interesting part of my garden exists only in my imagination!). If you are interested in what little I've got going, you are welcome, though, to go to my diary and journal and look around.

My yard really needs something like Starzz' gazebo! (-: And her gates, and her arbors...and let's see, what else?!!

You can see I love your garden!

I am happy you enjoyed it, Shirley.
All the perennials are popping up now. I have a few dafs, scilla and Lungwort in bloom..tulips will open soon. I just bought a Black and Decker edger and tried it out yesterday. Seems to be a help, so I plan to edge the gardens one by one.
It has made a nice difference.

Starzz, your Cinnamon Girl Iris is lovely! I have one called Prissy Miss that is a delicate pink. I just love it. Your azaleas and rhodos are beautiful. We are so far south that they are all finished here now.

I am just getting into gardening. It is my new obsession. I have lots of shade, so most of my plants are shade lovers: hostas, heuchera, foxgloves, astilbe, etc.

All the best!

I envy your space!
Wowsers, you have created a beautiful garden!
Right off I noticed the apples on either side of the arbour and they looked amazing, as beautiful as any flower in bloom. The whole thing is lovely.

Thank you very much Dovey..
Now if I can just get a handle on growing roses and have them overwinter. I had 22 at one time..but I am down to 14 now. I am doing much better this year and it has encouraged me. I have fertilized them more this year..and given them the
'AlfalfaTea'. I am waiting for my first blooms on Graham Thomas to open..

Happy Gardening,

Thank you Karen,

I've been working on area for roses where some of the apple trees have been cut down, so there is lots of sun for them. I have had many disappointments with roses over the past few years..but this year is good..and I have finally got some of the more hardy ones.
I used to be drawn to the hybrid teas..but they just don't survive long here.
Happy gardening,
Carol
