I'd like to issue a one drawer a day challenge for 30 days.

I use the S.P.A.C.E system. S=sort P=purge A=assign C=contain E=equalize.

I'm starting in the kitchen.

I did the top two shelves on my linen closet on the weekend. I had lots of very old double sheets and old pillow cases. I only have queen size beds now. So I saved some flat sheets..and put the rest in a box to take to the Salvation Army. It feels good!

My daughter dropped in when I was in the middle of this clean out..and she laughed and said she remembered some of those patterned sheets from twenty years ago! LOL

Good for you! I got the knife drawer done last night. I got the odds and ends drawer done today as well as the Utensil drawer since I'm working long hours tomorrow.

I've sacked up stuff for our garage sale.

Keep up the good work!

I did the kitchen drawers last week, and it is so nice not to have to 'stuff' everything back in when you open them.

My DIL and I worked on the garage a couple weeks ago. LOLOL You just can't imagine all the junk we have accumulated in 27 years of living here. Holy Cow, it just blows my mind! My Mother is suck a pack rat...and she got it from her Mother! LOL I refuse to end up like that. That is why I'm trying to do a little each week. It will be so nice to have it all done and organized. I'm certainly looking forward to that.

My mission is to have a garage sale...LOL...and all that money will be for plants! hehehehehe

Way to go you all! Just keep chipping away at it. I'd love to see some before and after photos of your efforts.

I'd like to be able to get a car in our garage. Funny how things are just magically drawn the garage and basement in our home.

A couple weeks ago DH helped me clean out one of the big, deep cabinets that was full of medicines - he's a physician and gets samples and we had TONS of stuff that was stored but expired, so out it went...

Then DH helped me clean out the "immediate need" tool drawer this weekend. I discovered I somehow have LOST the bits for my battery operated screw driver and need to replace them... and found a few things I haven't seen in a VERY long time.

I did realize during this time that I have given a lot of storage space to stuff that I will NEVER need or use - when we were moving (I had to move by myself because DH was at a conference), I used kitchen drawers to store the electrical things etc. and never moved them.

I like this one drawer a day challenge and hope to be able to keep up with it.

I moved the Christmas boxes that have been in our front room into the garage stacked neatly and was so thrilled to have my front room back!

I need to clean out my coat closet, it is full of stuff that needs to be managed, organized, re-located, or given away.

Good for you Janiejoy!
You got a lot done..
I did my medicine cupboard a couple of weeks ago.
I threw out a coat that I loved..but had seen better days this past weekend.
I need to do more of that.
I took some toy Tonka trucks to work today and gave them away. My grandkids are too old for them. Some of the old toys need to be throw out.

Cheers,
Carol

I think when you can do a little as you go. It doesn't seem so overwhelming.

You all keep at it.

Deb, I like this idea. I'm gonna go clean out my "junk" drawer in the kitchen. This is the drawer that gets so stuffed that, when it is closed, things start falling out of it and land in the cabinet below it!!

Late to post, but I like the idea.

I've been in Dublin for 2 years, moved once, and now will be moving back to the US in April. So, I really need to get things organized. I travel a lot so don't have too many days here. Probably < 30 overall - and I have about 30 little areas (drawer, shelf, bathroom ledge). I groan at the thought of my rolltop desk surface (which is precisely why I got a rolltop).

Ideally, I'd like to have everything fully organized for the movers without last minute scurrying and dumping unrelated things in a big box to sort back in the US.

Now when I get back to the US and integrate back in my old home with my better-natured half who has been solo without me for 2 years...hmmmmmmmmmm, then I could probably do a 6 month drawer a day challenge.

How has everyone been doing?

Well, I got one drawer sorted out in my bedroom and then other things came along that got all my attention. I'm even having trouble keeping my sink cleaned out and polished and the counters wiped. AND it isn't even gardening season yet. have a feeling this is one that's not on the list anymore. LOL ~Blooms

I did pretty good; however, workload skyrocketed and I went chasing the dollar for a spell.

I have noticed when I get real busy dejunking that about two days later my husband starts dejunking too. Has anyone else noticed something like that?
