Does anyone know where I can find plans to build my own arbor from natural materials? I have done several searches trying to find something and all the plans I'm finding are for lumber. I want to use branches and twigs from my own property to build larger sized arbors. Any info would be greatly appreciated!

FC, You might email the ChickenLady and ask about how she made hers. Go to the following link: http://forums.gardenweb.com/forums/load/megard/msg07005021394.html

There's also a book entitled "Tattered Treasures for Your Garden" that has twig arbor plans; maybe you could find it at your local book store to see if it's the type of arbor you might want to build. Here's a link: http://books.google.com/books?ie=UTF-8&vid=ISBN1402708130&id=S0SrUsm2-BgC&vq=twig arbor&dq=twig arbor&lpg=PA6&pg=PA7&printsec=4&sig=fjrzUw0n57mZ0zX7KZmrQwu-ykQ

Thank you both for your help. This is exactly what I was looking for. I showed the pics to my DH and I'm going to get the book so we can try to build some.

Here is a link that I visit religiously.

http://www.woodworkersworkshop.com/resources/index.php?cat=102

It has helped me out, and given me ideas. Plus it also links to other sites that have plans for free or for a fee.

Hope this helps! I am planning on building a picnic table/arbor this spring myself.

Magwar-Thanks for the site. There's some really great plans on there. My DH does some woodworking projects on occasion, so maybe I can get him to make some of these for me.
