Hi,

I am just starting to try using the journal and added an image for testing how to upload them. It was my understanding that all photos I uploaded would contain the copyright info on them. Did I misunderstand? I do remember checking an option for which version of the copyright info I wanted. I don't see anything on my photo. I have attached the same photo below, which might save you a trip to my journal to check it out.

Thanks,
prairie

Prarie,
If you look, it does have the "davesgarden.com" or whatever, copyright on it, starting a little above the top of the first bottle, in muted graytones, barely visible.

Yes, I remember seeing the copyright choice somewhere. I tried to look in "My Info" to see if it is there, but cannot get into it right now. I know I changed mine to the little note on top left a long time ago. Not that I posted any pics till a couple wks ago.

So, whatcha WSing? I'll be WS'ing for the first time this yr. Best of luck! ~ Suzi :)

Prairie,

I can also see the faint Daves Garden copyright on your picture. If you want something more obvious, go back to the copyright options and choose Method 1. I think you chose Method 2 which is to make the copyright very (maybe too) unobtrusive. If you choose Method #1, it will make a much more noticeable copyright which is probably what you've seen on a lot of other people's pictures.

Hi,

Thanks for detecting that. I can see it now and I think it is just that the logo happened to hit a gray part of the photo and just about disappeared. Sorry it took me so long to respond. I thought I was going to get notification in my email box that I had responses to my threads.

I would think it would be harder to use the photo with copyright across the body of the photo rather than just on one corner that could be cropped out.

Suzi, I am wintersowing everything under the sun. I did just 5 containers last year, but have about 80 so far this year. Good luck with your winter sowing.

Thank you both very much for the brilliant observations. :-)

You won't get notification in your email that you have responses, but when you logged in to DG you should have seen a notice on the top of your home page saying "You have xx updated threads in your thread watcher". This is how it's supposed to work at least, but I remember seeing a thread in another forum a few days ago that this feature wasn't working for some people.

I know I saw information in one of the forums that told how to add a caption to a photo, but now I am no longer allowed to search the forums (since I am not a paid subscriber). Can anyone give me the information as to how to do this? Thanks!

Are you talking about captions on pictures submitted to Plant Files, or pictures you're posting on a forum? In Plant Files, when you get to the screen where you click to find the file you want to upload, there's a line that says add a description, and that's where you type the caption. In forums I don't believe you have that option, all you can do is upload the picture.
