I am putting up drywall over an existing wall that had panel and texture paint on it. I think that I will put the framing over the drywall in areas like this and then add out on the frame.
the front door section is tricky. I can't do the same thing here. I either have to cut off the existing section of door frame for the drywall section to fit under or have it butt up to it and maybe put some trim on it.
Hi there! I did sort of the same and never came up with the finishing solutions, so I will be interested in this too.
By the way, no answers doesn't mean anything. I just now found out that there are 2 forum tabs on top... and found this. Previously, I think this would have been in the Handyman forum and I would have seen it.
Probably a lot of others out there too, only watch their particular forums and don't know there are this many new ones to peruse!
Good luck and let me see pics what you end up doing! ~ Suzi :)
the living room ceiling where an old wall was removed I need to fill in and mud yet. This is looking up - it's confusing. Most of the work I am doing is to correct all the remodelling done in the '50 to modernize an old house - sound familiar?
