It has rained here almost every day for a week. I just heard on the news that we've had 2 inches already today with up to another inch to come today. 80% chance of the same tomorrow. My jugs were totally water logged. I fashioned a "roof" from plastic sheeting over the big container holding most of my milk jugs and pop bottles. And my husband moved the others (like cake containers and take out containers) onto the covered porch yesterday afternoon to get them out of the rain, Everything is going to drown out there otherwise. My bachelor buttons look like they're rotting.
But others are starting to pop! If the rain ever stops I'll get out there and check more closely. A few hollyhocks are up as well as statice, a lupin, and I think some nigella. I have some icelandic poppies in styrofoam cups where the holes had plugged up and water was floating on top. I poked more holes and the poppies look great now. As for now I'm hibernating in the family room with my coffee.
