viola tricolor run rampant!

This is what happens each year in my garden when the bees and the V. tricolor (aka Johnny-jump-up, aka Heart's ease) start mixing it up with the other violas.

Beautiful! I would love to have masses of those pretty faces smiling up at me.

(Zone 7b)

Last year, after my DH had done the lawn, I noticed one very small patch of grass left long - went to look, and there was a volunteer viola right in the centre of it, in full bloom - he said he just didn't have the heart to mow over it!

(I moved it back into a flower bed.)

lol, thanks for all the kind words. Now, when I start ripping them out because they've overtaken EVERYTHING, does anyone want a plant?? Bear in mind that it is still snowing here. . .

At least they rip out easily, right?

Awww I can't resist those little smiling faces!
