I was fortunate to be able to visit this stunning area this week on a short trip to southern California to catch some sun! I'm still trying to peel my jaw off the ground after spending a bit over 4 hours walking around this extensive piece of property. Our own Crassulady2 (Norma) from the Cacti and Succulents forum is a volunteer there and is always referring to things she has learned there. I was hoping to catch up with Norma, but she was unable to come on the day I was there. Maybe next time, because I will surely go back to this beautiful place.
I'll start with photos of the African section of the succulents area. The original owner of the grounds added this portion to the cactu and succulent area to add winter color. It certainly succeeds in that! I wish photographs could adequately capture the beauty of this area. It was huge, with many trails between sections, and millions of birds singing added to the mysterious beauty of the place. I could have spent the entire time in this section alone. I took almost 200 photos, so only a fraction will be posted here. The choices are going to be difficult!
