    I am thinking of getting 3 hens how long do they live and how long do they lay ? what do you do with them when they stop laying ? law here says I can only have 3 don't really want to take care of old chickens for 15 yrs help what do you do with elderly chickens? thjankyou carol

    I think they will slow down after a couple years, but continue to lay some for 5 or so years. I'm not there yet, so this is only what I've read. Others may have better information.
