Hi - I'm new to this forum, well, actually, I've been reading your threads, soaking up all the great information you all share with each other. My sis and I are opening a (very) small garden center, and I'm thrilled to have found this forum to ask questions and find answers!! We plan on growing a variety of things, from your typical bedding plants (impatiens, snapdragons, coleus, some herbs, etc.) as well as brugmansias, epiphyllum, other cacti and succulents, ornamental grasses, hoyas - just about every type of plant that she and I love! We're starting VERY small. I live on 4 acres, and, with alot of hard, dirty work, my sis, her husband, my husband and myself turned one of our sheds into a greenhouse (20 x 20), with the other side of the old shed fixed up to be a "shop." My husband also built a small propagation greenhouse (I've included a picture of our greenhouses). I'd love to hear how you all have encouraged yourselves, gotten over the "fears" of venturing into this business, and even pick your brains with "business questions." I even have a question right off the bat - do you sell your bedding plants to your customers in 4-packs, 6-packs, or other? Which is the best for making a profit?
Well, thanks in advance, and also, thanks for all the great information on this forum!!! Karen
