Hi Crickets
I havent tried the bed frame yet soundes nice. How ever i did use a wheel barrow . It was a old one belonging to my grandfather ,what i did was i made a large round bed and tiped the wheel barrow over and filled if with soil i then planted the bed with purple petunias and in and like running out of the pan of the wheel barrow i planted white petunias it looked like thy fell out of it.Im going to do it again this year. Good luck with yours you may want to get a old cast-iron bed and if it's like here you may have to pay a bit for one or maybe a older member of your family my have one kicking around.Good-luck

I like the wheel barrow idea too. keeping that idea in mind.

The only thing that comes to mind around here that is wore out is my old grill. charcoal grill. We bought a new one. Wonder what folks would think of it being full of petunias.

Hey - went out looking for the wheelbarrow and found something better - an old wagon (you know, little red) from the days of my daughter and son. However, now the rust outweighs the red, and the memories and nostalgic just drip. I've put it under some lindenwoods with lilies in the valley and hosta that I am just planting. When warmer, I'm going to fill it with impatiens - can hardly wait! Thanks for getting the creative juices flowing! Dax

oh ---thoughts--that would be cool to find the old horse wagon and renew the wood and fill it full of flowers.

sigh.

CricketsGarden: I have an old weber grill in the midst of one of my gardens that has an array of yellow, orange and red flowers planted in it. To keep the dirt in the grill I lined the inside with newspaper; to keep it from being blown over/toppled by winds/storms I put small pieces of wood in it for weight and then covered the wood pieces with more newspaper. The grill garden is in full sun and is in its 2nd year. I'm pretty happy with how it looks and the flowers surprizingly are also doing well!

My husband is crazy. His idea is -----set up old cast iron bathtub, sink, and toilet at the end of my Shop---filled with soil and flowers. We have a tub and a toilet. Now I need a sink. Still thinking about it. Undecided.
I now have a Bed frame for a flower bed but its wood headboard and foot board but painted with oil paint.
Geeeeeeeeeze.
To walk into a garden set up like your home with flowers growing from everything. Funny Huh?

you have your bathroom, your bench and tables with flower pots on them for the living room, and your bedroom. The kitchen area would be a pic-nic table with a grill full of flowers.

Hmmmm.

Hi all-- Cricket and Jan you guys are TOTALLY extreme gardeners; but you are not alone! Yesterday drivingtoward Racine, WI on HWY 11 E.I spotted a frame bed loaded with very pretty flowers nex to a road-side vegetable stand. I could not stop because I had to meet a friend at Blain's and it was starting to get dark. So, when are you guys posting pictures?
