Here is the new thread for people who were on dial up. That way we can start posting pictures here without it taking forever to load.
So I started redistributing the blocks tonight and it looks like I will have to make 4 more so that a few of you do not get exact copies of a block. No big deal, I will just whip up a simple block real quick tomorrow.
They will be in the mail tomorrow or Saturday. Tomorrow I have a doctors appointment to find out the sex of our baby and maybe lunch with some friends. If we don't do lunch it should get done.
Okay ladies I am all done! I do apologive in advance, a couple of the ones I made today were just a hair short, but I got to the point where I was pulling the hair out of my head and thought it best to just quit while I was still sane.
I hope everyone likes the blocks they receive. I tried to do my best to keep with a color scheme that your block was but about half way through that plan went out the window. They will be in the mail tomorrow so you should receive it at least by Wednesday.
What a wonderful time for your family. Is your little girl excited about a new baby brother?
The blocks are extraordinary; I am so excited about seeing them in person. Mine were so pitiful but by being surrounded by such amazing work maybe you won't notice the the lack of skill. I am going to study each and every one of them before I offer my work for something like this again. LOL
Nor mine! I'm definitely not a point matcher. I never would have survived the days of girls doing samplers and embroidering all their wedding linens. I'd have been an old maid in scraggly stitches forever.
No problem. I mailed them out this morning and didn't notice until I was done paying that the mailman had sent them all first class. So for all of you that sent postage, I will be mailing back some change.
My little girl is too young to even know what is going on. She turned one on St. Patricks day. But I am sure she will notice when the little man is finally here!
Ohhhh...I'll be grateful then. I'm relieved that I'm done with the inside/outside haul for the season. I know my fiance got really tired of lugging dripping, heavy pots in and out and over the carpet and onto the kitchen counter...
Oh, definitely. When we're making decisions about what to take inside and what to risk leaving outside, my fiance whispers to the different pots, "Mommy loves you more than she loves you." I absolutely covet a greenhouse.
Sorry to be so long getting back on the quilt squares. They are beautiful! everyone did so well. The next couple of weeks are really busy, after that I will get it put togeather. Will make a pretty lap quilt. Pictures to come.
I just got all the blocks-and everyone sent such nice blocks- really, each one made me smile- and think about how they were made by people I haven't met in person- but who I shared this with and whose work I just realy appreciate!! Thank you all so much!
My fiance got back from his business trip last night and lo and behold, he showed me the quilt block exchange packet that came before he left but he kept forgetting to tell me about! *slaps forehead*
I love all the blocks! It's so fun to see all the different colors and techniques and patterns. Thanks, everyone (especially Luluguid, for coordinatng!)-this was such a fun experience. I'm with Gourd-let me know when the next one is, and count me in!
I'm still here, and have not completed my quilt yet, we moved that year from Southern California and I still have my squares in boxes that have not been unpacked yet. It sure is great to see a completed quilt.
Lulu, thanks for posting these photos and hopefully we can get a chain reaction going on this swap... I'll try to do something in the coming year when I'll be able to clear out some space to work in.
