I have brick on my patios surrounding my front garden. There is a significant build up of efflorescence that I'd like to remove with the phosphoric acid cleaner made for the job. My question is this, when I rinse this away it's bound to leach right into all my beds. Will this kill the plants? I plan to water it down in the bucket and then I'll rinse it with loads of water. I sure would be devastated if I killed my plants to have nice clean brick!!!
Can you just use a pressure washer instead without the phosphoric acid cleaner? I've had pretty good luck getting rid of moss that way (on concrete though, haven't tried it on brick).
Maybe. I went out after I typed this and used a deck brush with some mild soap and water and cleaned a section of the brick. I'll check it out in the morning and see if it made a difference. I really don't want to use this chemical if I don't have to.
