So far I have 4 that have hatched. I collected the eggs from my chickens, our rooster is a barred rock, my hens are RIR and Silver flecked leghorns. I will get a new picture of them, 2 are very dark in color with light wingtips and bellys, they are so cute.
I didn't realize it took so long for the process of getting out of an egg. One was just born, it's another one like the first picture.
Picture of new chicks. I was counting eggs and one was missing, called DH and he said one was dead this morning in the incubator. He took these 3 out and put them in there new home for now. I'm not sure the one that hatched early this morning is going to make it, it's not moving like the others did when they hatched.
Congratulations on your new arrivals ! It is so much fun to watch the whole process of incubating and hatching the eggs.
You posted on another thread that you had some Silkie eggs coming in the mail. Did you get them ? And are they in incubator yet ?
Right now I have 4 silkie eggs incubating, can't wait to see them. They should hatch around the 13 or 14th of April. I had a few others but they did nothing, so we took them out. 2 had no yokes. I did get another little yellow chick like the one in the picture, so I have 4 from the first batch of eggs. None of our brown eggs hatched, not sure why, or what happened to them.
