One of my 'quickie' projects is to crochet blanket sized afghans. I have made 11 of them so far. They take me about two weeks to make, but they cost between $100 and $150 to make, depnding on the size of the bed. It takes a lot more yarn to make a King sized blanket than to make a twin sized one. This is one I made for my sis since her favorite color is purple. It will go in her room with the pruple pasion quilt I just finished for her. These blankets really came in handy a few years ago when an ice storm knocked out our power in KC and all we had for warmth was a small gas fireplace in the den. We curled up by the fireplace under a pile of my afghan blankets and stayed quite toasty all night!
Thanks...one of the purple threads has a faint teal thread that runs through it ath doesn't show up in the picture, which is why I call it Amethyst and Alexanderite. My sister's got a thing for purple...LOL!
