This is one of my favorite plants ever. It was fashionable in Puerto Rico many moons ago. However, one may find hedges or singles as focal points in old houses in the island. It is really an impressive bush with nice proportions, thick
foliage that I prefer without pruning.
I believe people and propagators got over the beauty of this bush with fragant, elegant flowers because its slow growth.
Unfortunately, it is substituted by illiterate people working in the landscaping
industry by Ficus benjamina. Believe it or not! Imagine making a hedge with
a tree that can grow 60 feet tall and a 100 wide. That is the reality here.
Excellent picture. Good luck. You may find a long list of my favorites with
their botanical names in endemismotrasnochado.blogspot.com
