I had some Sable palm trees planted around Christmas and it is now mid-April and they have not shown any signs of new growth and a couple have even turned a little brown at the top. The palm tree planter that I got them from said to spray them from the top down with Miracle Grow mixture and whack them with a 2x4 on the trunk, this will shock them to start growing. This sounds really wierd to me has anyone else ever heard of hitting trees to get them to grow?
