| The hottest color for 2006 is ORANGE!
Here’s a nice pic: [HYPERLINK@www.DecorateMyHome.net]
What is your reaction to using this color in your home?
Have you jumped on this trend?
If so, what have you done that looks great and what has been a disaster?

| I must be ahead of the times. In our last house and in 04, I painted our daughters bedroom Bronze Tone by BM. Pretty similar to the picture you show. I liked it a lot! She changes her mind way too often, so in this house it's an off white. She can change her accessories and not the wall color. |

| Well I love the pictured room! But I am afraid my husband might have a heart attack if I painted any walls in that color. He is very much a 'white wall' kinda guy. I am hoping to get him talked into painting the living room terracotta tho :) Cindy |

| sadly enough, I painted my entire bedroom a close color of orange called fireside orange when I moved into this house...not exactly the effect I was going for...I live in a bungalow and have the upstairs bedroom...and we couldnt decide where the walls ended and the ceiling began...so we painted the ceiling too...bit of a mistake...I dont have a working cam at this time or I would take a pic...but the best I can do is this terrible pic of the background of my dhs kitty...it is a messy background...I apologize... | This isn't a very good pic and I had the closet doors off to paint. This is the room I spoke of above and the entire room, walls and ceiling were done in this color. Click the image for an enlarged view.

| The color is Bronze Tone by Benjamin Moore. I really liked it and would love to figure out where to use it in this house. |

| Just depends on what you like. I wouldn't want to see beige or white every day. Just a matter of opinion. |

| Waaaay too bright for everyday living for me! I have a spice orange color in my kitchen that I love, but that's about as bright as I get. I want to relax and feel calm in my home, and I think that would be too distracting for comfort. I also don't feel a "wall" should be a focal point, and everything else pales next to it.
Just my 2 cents...

| we did an awesome 2 tone in our living room, I wouldn't want either color to be the entire room but this was good, I did cry after i had 3 walls painted though while i still had the painter's tape up, (it looked very sports-themed w/ the blue tape but after I pulled that off and figured out window coverings I like it a lot...its definitely not for everyone though...
I'll post a pic when I get home. |

| Wow, what a beautiful color! 4 years ago, in our den,we painted the fireplace wall "Fireball Orange" looked like Nickelodeon orange at the store, the other 3 walls were Lemon Mist both by Behr. Just heavenly, our family life glowed in that room. We loved it so much that we used the same color scheme in our kitchen and breakfast room. All through the year, in every season those rooms screamed love, warmth and joy. One wall of that fireball orange was more than enough!... if it was on every wall, the pumpkins probably would have started a food fight from the vivid energy of the colors! ;0) |

| That orange (top post) really glows because of the wash of sunlight from the big windows. Might not have the same effect in a different room. I think there is always a spot for a bold color in a house, but 1950's orange wouldn't do it for me. BTDT |

| ok so it took a little longer than when I got home but here it is...a burnt orange of sorts and a mustard/burnt yellow.
all the North and South facing walls are the yellow and all the East and West facing walls are the orange and there is a cut out so there are 6 walls, very bold...almost too bold for me, but my fiance talked me into it, good choice in the end but tough to match to other rooms it flows into...anyone have any ideas for the hallway? | I love it. My question is: what colors are you trying to incorporate? I did something similar, with orange in the dining room, 40's green in the living room and "roasted sesame seed " (Benjamin Moore) in the bedroom. I used something called Cameo White for the room connecting them all. Now I wish I would have used the 'roasted sesame seed' (It could have been 'toasted' - I forget) instead. It was such a nice color, and if I did it again I'd use that. Here are three rooms with the sesame seed in the foreground. Click the image for an enlarged view.

| Oh my, Stellapathic I love your color choices, you can come pick my colors any day! I have basically the same shade of colors in my kitchen but they are more dull or faded than the super bold version in the living room. I want to do the entire kitchen in a ligher yellow similar to what you have but it's a funny shapped area where there's no good stopping place (hallway runs into the kitchen) so whatever I have in the kitchen has to go all the way to the front door.
I also wanted to paint the ceiling but again there is no good stopping place, and this is even worse, the is no division between the kitchen livingroom or the entrance hallway!!
What do you think of the lighter yellow w/ the bold colors of the living room and any suggestions for the ceiling (it is textured but not popcorn)?
(Oh yeah and that ugly furniture will be gone in like a year or when I trust the puppy...which could be never) |

| So what I did was a very poor paint job on your ceiling (which ended up including some of the fan, sorry). The color is too green though. Think chamois, not yellow. But still you can see how getting rid of white tones down the brighter colors. Go to the Benjamin Moore site and choose Toasted Sesame Seed and see what I'm talking about. I think it'd do fine in the hall too. Click the image for an enlarged view.
