WOW! This morning I wanted to check out this "story" a contractor told me about Pergo and what a blessing finding this website. The laminate project for the downstairs I never even considered doing myself but you all have changed that. Until recently I have never owned my own home and after 3 years the carpet is driving me nuts but I have very few projects. Has anyone purchased laminate any other way other than local suppliers that was a less expensive way to go? Thank you for advice on so called "cheap stuff". Could you all share names of different floorings you have and like as well as padding. I plan on selling my house next summer so I want to do a really good job that will not devalue my home. Thank you again from the rookie handyman and to the woman who sent the pictures your house looks GREAT.
I bought hardwood (well, bamboo & cork actually) from iFloor - [HYPERLINK@www.ifloor.com] - with good results and I know they sell laminate too. Just be sure to calculate shipping costs into your total before deciding if it's a better deal than your local store. The larger area you have, the more likely it'll be a good deal.
iFloor is actually a sort of specialized search engine for a number of different flooring companies, so explore your options for the style & price that suits you best.
Congratulations on your new project! There's nothing quite like looking at a floor or wall, or other big project when it's all finished and saying "I did that!".
