Hi All,
I haven't been around here for several months and we made a BIG move. The family and farm have moved from Chico, CA to Western Massachusetts!! We wanted our daughter (just turned 1) to grow up near her grandparents and extended family so we made the move east.
Now that we're here, in a different climate, with different systems and different soils (potting being the current problem), I have new problems that I can't identify with any of the online tools! I'm hoping someone here can help...I can't see to find a more appropriate forum for this problem...please refer me in necessary.
I planted several seeds almost a month ago, tomatoes, squash, basil, watermelon, etc., and after repotting them into a different mix "bumper crop" by Master Nursery, and bringing them out into the sun (from under fluorescents) they appeared to be developing some mottled necrosis with some yellowing. It started with the basil appearing "burnt" and my first instinct was that the weren't properly hardened off (didn't have to deal with that in CA as plants were started outdoors). I brought them back inside but the problems keep progressing. Tomatoes, Basil, Watermelon and Squash are all showing these problems of necrosis and some yellowing, but the patterns don't match with anything I can find online. I'm wondering if it could be a problem with the soil, as I didn't think there were diseases that would affect all four of these vegetables/herb. Please help if you have any advice! See pictures below...
