Well, it's still in storage. I bought it used 3 or so years ago. It's a Vermont Castings Vigilant that has a hand painted folk art design around the fire doors. It also has a set of solid doors and a removeable screen for open viewing. Of course, once I get it installed, I will need to blacken and polish it.

My favorite part is the dragon holding up the warming shelf.

Better view of the warming shelf. It's not attached in the photo so I just had a friend hold it in place.

I love it! I'm so excited for you and your new adventure and can't wait to see more pictures!!
Soon you'll have a big pot of beans simmering there with your bread rising on the warming shelf~~

Love your stove Darius..
Are you gonna disappear from Dave´s when your new adventure kicks in and if so for a short-long or heavens forbid forever time.
I cant even begin to imagine Dave´s without a Darius posting.

Janett, as long as I can get internet access, I'll be still on DG! We don't know yet if the new place will have any high speed access or just dial-up. Of course, we don't even know yet if we will get the new place... depends on financing!

What a beautiful stove! Vermont Castings makes stoves that really last a long time. We have had ours in our kitchen for 28 years and it still looks very good. I can highly recommend this company, great customer service.

I should have my woodstove here Labor Day. It will replace these unvented gas logs in the Library. I have 3 cords of dry firewood ordered for September and hope to get 3 more green put up in the barn.
