I've been asked for recommendations for books about heirlooms. There are many, but these are the ones I go back to time after time:

Heirloom Vegetables, Sue Strickland, Fireside Books.

Heirloom Vegetable Gardening, William Woys Weaver, Henry Holt & Co.

Taylor's Guide to Heirloom Vegetagbles, Ben Watson, Houghtn Mifflin Co.

Seed to Seed, Susanne Ashworth, Seed Savers Exchange.

Garden Seed Inventory, 5th edition, Seed Savers Exchange.

Buffalo Bird Woman's Garden, Gilbert Wilson, Minnasota Historical Society Press.

Field and Garden Vegetables of America, Fearing Burr, The American Botanist Booksellers.

100 Heirloom tomatoes for the American Garden, Carolyn Male, Workman Publishing.

100 Vegetables and Where They Came From, William Woys Weaver, Algonquin Books.

And, last but certainly not least, the annual Seed Savers Yearbook, Seed Savers Exchange.

Hope this helps those who've asked.
