Hi, I have a new plant that did not come with a tag, and I have no idea what it is or how to care for it properly. It is rather hard to discribe, but I will try. It is about 1 1/2 feet tall, has one (stalk?) growing straight up from what looks like a small oblong potato, the base is gray/green in color. The leaves are small, med. green and run up all sides of the stalk. There are pretty whitish flowers trimmed in a light blue or purple. The flowers are 5 petals and about 1-2 inch blooms.
Can anyone tell me what this plant might be?
Any help would really be appreciated.
Welcome to Dave's Garden, ernoble! I wish I knew what your plant was.. It sounds pretty! There is an "Identification" forum for just this kind of thing, but you have to subscribe (pay the $15/year or $5 for a two-month trial period) to get to it. Here is the link, just so you know what it looks like: [HYPERLINK@davesgarden.com]
There is also a Florida Gardening forum ([HYPERLINK@davesgarden.com]) and a Mid-South Gardening forum ([HYPERLINK@davesgarden.com]). The Mid-South forum is open to everyone, so maybe if you post your question and a picture of the plant there you will find someone who can help you identify it.
I finally discovered what this plant is. Well, actually, my husband found it online. It is called a Desert Rose. I have a picture of it blooming, but don't know how to submit it on this site. I guess I have to be a member to do that to.
