I have in my garden what I think is a Bluestar, or possibly a Willow Amsonia. It looks like the picture of the bluestar that I clicked, but it is not unlike the Willow in looks either. So, from the photo, hard to tell. We did not plant it, the previous owner, a master gardener planted it. I am trying to find out about the sticky, milky white sap in the stems. Is it herbal or poisonous? It is very sticky and annoying when cutting it back. Just curious.
I also have this plant - I think it's the "Arkansas Blue Star". I've had it in my garden for 5+ years and it hasn't bloomed yet. I'm thinking about moving it to a more shady spot. How long did it take for yours to bloom? I love the fringed look but would love to know if it will bloom and if so what do I need to do to help it along.
