After ordering bareroot palms a number of times, and 'rescuing' some local palm seedlings that were growing in inopportune places (like in between the petiole boots on other trees) it is my strong suspicion that soaking the roots for several hours before planting helps quite a bit with the transplant shock. Has anyone else found this to be the case?
