A little something for DD ... only 5 1/4 X 8 1/4

Just need to finish soldering a bead on the outer edge and a couple of hanging rings.

awwww , shucks ;-D

Still learning and hoping to improve with every cut. Speaking of cutting , man o man that green and amber streaky was a pistol to cut. Musta been that hard hand rolled glass. The flower was just plain ol Cherry red Waterglass by Spectrum and that cuts like butter in comparison.

Onward & upward ,

Scoot - it is very pretty. I am impressed by your cutting skill.

I think I'd enjoy traditional stained glass alot more if I could cut well. Maybe in with more time and practice...

Actually, I think a saw would be my best bet...when I can afford it, I'm gonna get one.

Thanks Kimmy but I could not do it without my grinder .
I have the littlest Gryphette (sp?) .
Don't let the size fool you , what a powerful little work-horse it is.

I just got someone to make a portrait pattern of my multiple Champion German Shepherd Toby.

Portrait patterns have a bazillion little pieces so I know what I'll be doing all winter ... lol

I just found out I may need a saw for some of the pieces . I hope not ;-(

Beautiful stained glass, and what an amazing Shepherd. We have one too, but he's never been (covering his ears) show dog quality. Just a nice big ol dog.

Scooter, about the Gryphon Gryphette Grinder...are grinders like this ever used for shaping ceramic tile, or broken china? Or do they just work for shaping glass?

I think so but wait until someone with experience in that medium comes along .

Or you can contact the company and ask them ('-'?)

Just heard back from the folks at yglass.com, regarding my question about using the Gryphon Gryphette Grinder for materials other than stained glass (such as ceramic tile, or broken china.) They replied:

"No problem, this is a great grinder for grinding and polishing rock, stones, glass and china. In fact I have used it for tools too. Have a good day."

Thought I'd post this in case other "plate breakers" have wondered about it. So far I'm finding it hard to get the shapes I'd like with some of my broken china pieces...but then again, it may be that I just haven't broken enough plates yet to be very good at it...!
