Hey, we were having a party tonight and I'm just gonna cut straight to the bad news. A hooka flipped over, and the coal burnt a hole in the carpet. We gotta get this out ASAP. Please respond with the best idea (I don't think we'll be allowed to cut out a square of the carpet and replace it, we were thinking about painting the black marks..please respond.) It's burnt into the carpet, so it's kinda crusty and we don't know how to fix it.. if we change the color that should be good enough.
I know you don't want to cut the carpet, but the only real way to repair this is to do that. Do you have carpeting in a closet or somewhere else that's not too noticeable where you could cut out a square? This isn't like a stain where you can get a cleaning product of some sort to remove it, you either have to fix it right or do something like your paint idea where it'll still end up being crusty looking and feeling and in my mind, will still be very noticeable.
