I am a complete newby at gardening and was recently sold 2 Phoenix canariensis as totally hardy.
As I live 300 miles north of London UK by the North Sea I thought I had better check it out on the web. It looks like it is Mediterranean, California, Florida hardy which this area is NOT.
Can anyone give me any advice on whether it is worth trying to keep them alive in winter in this clime or should I just put them in the wheelie bin and try a different palm. If so which one?
