I've spent the past three days organizing my thousands of photos. I knew there were a lot of them. This is going to take some time. I did manage to put about 275 into tabs for you all to see. I've still got a long way to go... but this is a good start.

I hope you enjoy visiting my back yard. It's where me and hubby go when we want to "go out"!

So, bring your coffee or iced tea with you and come wander around the yard with me.

I hope that link works for you... if not, then just click on my name to see my diary.

Thanks so much pepper for your kind words! It has been a labor of love so far.

I've thoroughly enjoyed all of the tours I've been on here and oohed and aahed at the beauty all over this site.

It was a lot of fun and I accomplished "cleaning up my photo closet for Spring, 2006" simultaneously as I did it. I'm starting to run low on harddrive space on my laptop where the photos are located, so this was a way for me to kill 2 birds with one stone.

Other than my family, my passions in life are plants and photography. I haven't been a photographer very long, but I've always had lots of plants! They've multiplied so many times for me over the years. Neither of us can stand it when the other one has something that we don't have, so my sister and I share plants all the time.

I love to share photos of my yard with friends and relatives via email. Not all of them are on high speed. So this will be a perfect way for them to come visit with me ... no matter where they live. What a bargain vacation! And in the middle of hurricane season, to boot! HAHAHAHAHA

I will keep adding to it as I clean out my files. I have lots of photos of Hurricane Rita and how that experience affected our home and yard.

Thanks so much Dave's Garden, for your hospitality, your friendly occupants and your webspace to share my passions.

Thanks Karen

We've had so much rain the past few weeks that everything has grown bigtime and it's really gotten "jungly looking" out in the back yard.

If you, or anyone else, sees anything that you'd like cuttings, etc. from, just let me know. I'll be happy to share anything I have. I'm always looking for ways to propigate plants.

Our Night Blooming Cereus (edited to correct this to Hooker's Orchid Cactus) really went hog wild last night. 14 blooms opened in a matter of just a few minutes. I tried to take a video with my camera. Wouldn't you know that I chose the "last" one to video and it took 6 minutes and 45 seconds from the time I started until it popped open. Any other time, I might have blinked and missed the opening. I need to try and figure out how to edit the videos from my digital camera to cut out the "boring" parts. :-)

I got some really good photos of our resident flying squirrel last night. I'll try and post those photos soon.

Welcome back anytime. This will truly be a work in progress... just like my yard. It's been 15 years in the making and has really changed a lot over the years. I'm going to try and find some photos of the yard when we moved in. We'd never lived in a place that was "landscaped" before and that was what sold us on the house!

Happy gardening!
Janet

Janet,

Great virtual tour! I love the parts with your dogs, your grandkids, and the critters, lol. Looks like you got all the bases covered. Really well done, good job!

Thanks Kristy and congratulations on your graduation!

I've had a lot of fun working on it. I have several new plants to add to the journal. Hopefully sometime this week I'll have enough time to get them added.
